SCHOLARSHIPS

NEW: The 2021/2022 scholarship application process is now opened.  Please note that we may readjust the deadlines and timelines depending on the duration of COVID-19 and or the reopening of schools.   Please apply under the section that best suits you.   

Youth Action International offers various scholarships for eligible young Liberians and Sierra Leoneans.

Current scholars do not need to apply, but can use this link to submit update form and report of performance from previous year.

ACADEMIC SCHOLAR 

  • Must be a student of a certified school with a yearly average between 92-100 for high school and elementary students with grade sheets to show performance
  • Must be a Division I or II WAEC certificate holder for college students
  • Must be admitted in a certified University with a GPA between 3.5 to 4.0 for college students with grade sheets to show performance
  • Must be a full time student at the University
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 18-25 for college students
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 6-17 for Elementary and High school students

TRAVEL ASSISTANCE FOR STUDY ABROAD 

  • Must be a top graduate of a certified high school
  • Must be a Division I or II WAEC certificate holder
  • Must be admitted in a certified University abroad
  • Must have a current GPA between 3.4 to 4.0
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 18-30

CHILDREN OF EBOLA SURVIVORS/EBOLA SURVIVORS 

  • Must be a student of a certified school with a yearly average of not less than 75% for high school and elementary students with grade sheets to show performance
  • Must be a Division I or II WAEC certificate holder for college students
  • Must be admitted in a certified University with a minimum GPA between 2.5 and above for college students with grade sheets to show performance
  • Must be a full time student at the University
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 18-25 for college students
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 6-17 for Elementary and High school students
  • Must have proof of being an Ebola survivor and or child of a survivor

 NEED BASED SCHOLARSHIPS 

  • Must have yearly average of not less than 75%
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong financial need
  • Must be able to demonstrate inability to pay
  • Must demonstrate strong community or service orientation
  • Must be a WAEC certificate holder from Division I-III
  • Must be a full time student at the chosen institution
  • Must be a Liberian or Sierra Leonean citizen between the ages of 18-25
